Fortnite fans theorise about Marvel-themed Chapter 5 Season 4
We hope your spandex still fits because it looks like we're suiting up for more Marvel mayhem in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. Although there's still plenty of wasteland to explore in the Mad Max-esque 'Wrecked' (including a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover), players are looking ahead at what comes next.
While we originally wrote off a supposedly leaked 2024 roadmap for what's still to come to Epic Games' battle royale favourite, it looks like it's the real deal. Taking this with a significantly smaller pinch of salt, we could be heading toward another Marvel-themed season with Doctor Doom as its poster boy.
Fortnite fans brace for Marvel-themed Chapter 5 Season 4
Those who've been with Fortnite for a while will know that Chapter 2 Season 4 was arguably the game's best. The first big crossover brought the skintight superheroes of Marvel Comics to the battle royale behemoth, and while we've had many Marvel collaborations since, nothing has been on the scale of a full-blown season.
When one Redditor asked what we think of the new Magneto and Weapon X skins that have just landed in-game, players couldn't help but hype what they're seemingly leading toward. Away from Magneto being the mid-season skin and setting up shop at Brawler's Battlegrounds, Wolverine has broken out of the Weapon X lab.
Assuming that we're getting more comic book capers, the conversation quickly turned toward which skins we could see. When one fan said they're disappointed that we haven't had a Cyclops skin yet, someone else replied, "The fact they didn’t put Cyclops in as a shop skin, makes it more likely he might be a BP skin next season."
Someone else added, "I think he'll be in the next season battle pass along with Colossus, Doc Ock, at least one member of the Fantastic Four or all." A third said, "Cyclops and Nightcrawler are NEEDS for me. Using the teleportation as Nightcrawler would just feel so right 😔," with Nightcrawler being branded a 'must-buy'.
In terms of new POIs, there's a great idea that Grand Glacier could easily be converted into the X-Mansion. Hoping we could see Asteroid M in-game, someone concluded, "Loot Island should be replaced by Magneto's flying Island." For those who miss iconic locales like Doom's Domain and the Sentinel Graveyard, we're expecting something big.
It's important to remember that Epic Games is yet to confirm what the theme of the next season will be, but as updates start setting things up early, the timing of Magneto and Weapon X is perfect for Chapter 5 Season 4's predicted August 16 release.
