Mediatonic's Fall Guys has been trundling for some time, kicking off during the pandemic and making its name as a champion of the gameshow party game genre. Stumble Guys is hot on its tail, so it's safe to say that with competition on the field, Mediatonic needs to keep things exciting.
It seems that the team has tried to do exactly that by introducing a brand-new update with plenty more for players to do. Still, fans feel Mediatonic isn't doing enough.
New Fall Guys update disappoints fans
The Fall Forever update was toted as a pretty big deal for Fall Guys, allowing players to pootle around stages at their own leisure with the new Explore mode. It also tweaked some of the game's physics, but players aren't entirely happy about it.
Fans have been pretty furious with Mediatonic for the changes that have been made, taking to Reddit to express that the current state of the game isn't living up to its fun past.
"I would rather unvault everything and go back to something like s6 with no more updates ever again as opposed to this," reads one comment on a Reddit post.
"This update has killed the game in my opinion. I can’t even touch it anymore and I’m a new player on switch and I don’t like it," adds another user.
Players are clearly raging - but Mediatonic is keeping its ear to the ground, and it's not about to let the disappointment go lightly.
Mediatonic responds to fan backlash over new Fall Guys update
Following the backlash from players, the official Fall Guys X account has come forward to make some much-requested changes. It revealed that there will be an increase of knockout rounds from three to four, altering the Finals selection, and making a number of bug fixes.
It's nice for the team to address the community directly about these changes, and hopefully, it could lead to some better goodwill in the game's subreddit. Then again, we know what Reddit is like.
