We're sorry to report that your Perfume Bottle builds have been firmly sent back to a Site of Grace. FromSoftware has rolled out its latest Elden Ring patch, and while most are already deep in the guts of its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the quest to unlock Miquella's secret has just taken a hit.

You know what you're getting with FromSoft games, and when it came to the base Elden Ring, it was a gruelling ordeal up there with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Shadow of the Erdtree has raised the difficulty even more, with many begging Hidetaka Miyazaki for some form of easy mode.

SPOILER WARNING:

Late-game spoilers have been mentioned and discussed below. Proceed with caution.

Shadow of the Erdtree patch nerfs your favourite build

One dismayed Tarnished wrote, "Sh*t they nerfed the perfume Rolling Sparks," while another added, "Should've not nerfed perfume😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔I haven't beaten Radahn." A third said, "Damn rolling sparks might be cooked after this," and someone concluded, "Perfume bottles my beloved….

While Elden Ring purists won't be too fussed by the changes, those who used it for a much-needed leg-up will be heading back to the depths of Reddit to find the next workaround. Perfume Bottles gave us the sweet smell of victory for a while, but now, something stinks in the Land of Shadow.
