At launch, Blizzard's Diablo 4 was a barnstormer that not only pleased long-time fans of the series, but somehow brought the game blasting through to the mainstream with its impressive advertising. The arrival of the new battle for Sanctuary was beloved by new and old fans alike - but now, it's a different story.

While promises of new content have been met, there are many who feel the previous two seasons haven't lived up to the excitement of the game’s launch, pushing the title further into forgetfulness. And it looks like Diablo 4 Season 3 could be the final nail in the coffin for some fans.

Diablo 4 Season 3 isn't wowing anyone

Taking to Reddit, fans have expressed their concerns that the third season of Diablo 4 isn't doing anything to keep them engaged and has so far failed on behalf of Blizzard to keep fans on the hype train.

The new season, known as the Season of the Construct, seems to go even harder than ever before on the itemisation of the game. Season 3 uses new weapons and armour as though they were bait for players,  all while forgetting to implement any actual fun gameplay to use them in.

Players have gone so far as to call the game "painfully unfun" in its current shape, and it's a pretty poor look after the last two seasonal updates have also failed to impress. "So far at level 52, this feels worse than season 1," says one post in the Diablo 4 subreddit.

"The robot minion you get is not interesting at all, only thing i kinda want is the resource regen anything else that drops I don't even feel any excitement about when it drops and the grind to level this thing seems insane so far."

Others wasted no time in giving Blizzard hell, reporting that they're incredibly unimpressed by another dull update. "Staring down the toilet I think s**t is more fascinating than this game," says one fan, eviscerating the season. "Did you find Diablo there?" asks another. "Because I still haven’t found Diablo in Diablo 4!"

Someone else said, "The sad thing is I'm having more fun playing diablo 3 season 30 (recycled content) than diablo IV season 3 brand new content." Another concluded, "Re-download D4 Hop into r/diablo4 to see what people are liking and using in the new season Scroll for a few minutes Uninstall D4."

Fans clearly aren't happy, and it's going to take some serious work from Blizzard to win them back. As some vow to turn their back on Diablo 4 for good, we wish the developers the best of luck. It looks like you've got a fight on your hands.
