Cyberpunk 2077 may have launched in December of 2020, but according to one developer, its Night City setting is home to more easter eggs that users haven't found yet.

In an interview with GamesRadar, Phantom Liberty's quest designer Maria Mazur says "I feel like there are so many easter eggs".

Cyberpunk 2077 still has secrets players haven't found yet

One such easter egg was discovered recently by players, involving driving into the ocean - something not many players are likely to do.

"Someone drove the main character into the ocean," Mazur explains, "and I actually had this secured just in case - I weaved in a scenario with dialog and stuff. So I was happy to see that someone actually did that."

"I think those moments are kind of precious," she said. "When you're trying to anticipate someone's actions, and you're leaving this little surprise for someone, and then finally, years later, you can see that they actually found it."

Mazur still thinks there's plenty more to discover, too, noting "There are many things in Night City", also suggesting that 2015's The Witcher 3 is likely still holding some extra secrets even almost a decade after launch.

Yes, Cyberpunk is great now

I reviewed Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion last year, and it was one of my favourite experiences of 2023.

Combined with the big 2.0 update that adds new abilities and character build options to the ambitious RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 is in a better spot than it's ever been in. In fact, I'd say it's one of the most immersive RPGs I've played in the last decade.

If you've been wondering about it, I can't recommend it enough - especially since it's regularly on sale now, often with Phantom Liberty included.
