CoD players worried MW3 will become ‘infested’ with PC cheaters

An issue that's always plagued the Call of Duty series has been cheaters, and unfortunately, Modern Warfare 3 is no different.

With Weekend One of the Beta only accessible for PlayStation players, those with Devkits were the only competitors capable of accessing hacks. As a result, the number of bad actors running around Estate, Favela, Skidrow, and Rust were low, and barely noticed by the majority of players.

However, Weekend Two is about to begin - opening the floodgates to every platform, including PC. This has sparked concerns that the MW3 Beta is about to become "infested" with hackers, completely ruining the experience.

CoD argue there's going to be an "invasion of cheaters" in MW3

Taking to Twitter on October 11, popular Call of Duty content creator Charlie "MuTeX" Saouma revealed that they're "genuinely concerned with the state of the Beta on PC."

After playing Ranked on MW2 and running into countless hackers, MuTeX believes Weekend Two of the MW3 Beta is "going to be infested with cheaters and going to give COD such a bad look."

The only hope they have is that the devs have something "ready or planned for this invasion of cheaters," but very few players are convinced they do.

"CoD has been infested with cheaters for years now, and they do nothing about it," said one frustrated user, with another arguing, "Agreed and first impression are everything, if cheaters flood the lobbies in Beta, it’s going to deter a lot of player from even picking up the game."

Although the RICOCHET anti-cheat is meant to be the main line of defence against hackers, very few members of the community have any faith in it at all.

The majority are tired of hearing that the system has been "improved," when in their experience, it simply "doesn't work."

At the end of the day, Weekend Two is a chance for the devs to prove they are prepared and have taken extra measures to combat hackers. However, a lot of players are absolutely convinced that "the game is not ready, the anti-cheat isn’t ready, and Activision isn’t ready."
