When it comes to Modern Warfare 3, we know it isn't following the typical Zombies formula. Instead, 2023's Call of Duty is providing players with a PvE extraction shooter gameplay loop.

While this still puts an emphasis on survival, it's unlikely to create the pressure and stakes of reaching an unbelievably high tier in the round-based system.

Despite this, a lot of Zombies fans are excited for the devs to spice it up and take the undead mode in a different direction, even if they're still recovering from the poor Zombies experience in Vanguard.

However, there's one aspect of MW3 Zombies that's being described as "horrible," and that's the one-hour time limit.

CoD players argue MW3 Zombies one-hour time limit is "horrible"

Taking to Twitter on October 4, popular Call of Duty account TheGhostOfHope decided to voice their opinion that they're fine with no round-based Zombies in MW3 as long as the new mode is "good enough to hold me over until 2024 Round Based Zombies."

This sparked a discussion within the community, with a lot of players agreeing with TheGhostOfHope, but arguing the one-hour time limit on each was their primary problem with MW3 Zombies.

"The current problem I have is the 1-hour time limit, it makes everything feel pointless considering zombies at its core is about surviving endless hoards," said one user.

Another Zombies fan raised a similar issue, arguing, "I’m all for them trying new things as well but having a time limit on how long you get to play is a horrible decision, even if it is good, getting forced out of a game while you’re having a good time is never fun."

Zombies fans disappointed round-based isn't part of MW3

A lot of Zombies fans are just confused as to why a round-based mode couldn't have been added as an extra feature. In their opinion, this departure from the classic formula will "never be as good as round-based."

"No it doesn’t matter how good it is because it could never be as good as round based, round based should be a requirement and a given for any Zombies mode they put out it was the original," said one frustrated player.

While it's extremely likely CoD's instalment after MW3 will include a round-baed Zombies mode, that's not good enough for a lot of fans. In their opinion, Sledgehammer has missed a golden opportunity, but we'll just have to wait and see if the undead mode will be a pleasant surprise for the community on November 10.
