The current Gunsmith in Call of Duty often opens itself up to Pimp My Gun ridicule, with players making the most outrageous and unnecessary selection of attachments to mock the system. Have you ever seen an 8x scope on a pistol with an assault rifle stock and a drum mag?

But this meme isn't just synonymous with the CoD universe, as the VR game 'Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades' went viral for a popular Pimp My Gun with the April Fools Whizzbanger nail and hammer weapon.

But a Call of Duty animator just aired this .50 Cal pistol with a hammer as a trigger, and it would be a hilarious addition to the Modern Warfare series if the Infinity Ward employee could convince his superiors to drop it.

Call of Duty animator creates the most monstrous gun yet

Based on the H3VR Whizzbanger meme, Call of Duty lead animator Ranon Sarono has revealed a self-proclaimed "monstrosity" of a gun on YouTube.

The weapon is a mash-up of a range of titles, with the model coming from the Pimp My Ride website, the .50 Cal lumoize bullet and Lillya hammer stemming from Escape from Tarkov, and sounds from Battlefield 3/4, Halo 3, Titanfall 2, and Super Smash Bros 64.

"In the same manner and purpose of Pimp My Gun, I too kitbashed a bunch of models to make this monstrosity," Saronon said on his Hyper YouTube channel.

"I’m sure this old meme (shown at the start) was made solely for its absurdity and purposeful disregard of real-world physics. So when animating, I too didn't care much about real-world physics because of its absurdity. Suspend your disbelief for the sake of a little meme."

Sarono has credits in the rebooted Modern Warfare, MW2, and MW3 games, having joined Infinity Ward in 2018 from Respawn Entertainment, and still works at the studio as they presumably begin thinking about what IW does next in the series.

Funnily enough, Call of Duty did get a nail gun during Black Ops Cold War, although it wasn't the meme variant and actually served as a submachine gun that used a revolver chamber to nail enemies to the ground.  Now, add a hammer and a .50 cal chamber, and we're winning.
