Capcom has been riding a great wave of success, and now that the dust has settled around Dragon's Dogma 2's fast travel shenanigans and microtransactions, players are able to focus on what matters to them, which is just exploring.

Capcom has proved that it can manage the dense fantasy world just as well as it can carry the Street Fighter series into the future with the beloved Street Fighter 6, and it's this versatility that has led it to immense success. As new data rears its head, it's clear this is translating pretty nicely into game sales.

Following the launch of Dragon's Dogma 2, Capcom has revealed that it's made some huge sales over the last year and that it could be about to crank into overdrive from here.

A new report from the company suggests that it sold 45.89 million units of games in the last fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2024 - making it a new record for the team. Capcom seems to owe numbers like this to the launch of Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2, which sold 3.3 million and 2.62 million units, respectively.

Capcom's forecast for the financial year ending in March 2025 is expected to be even bigger, as it projects more sales and bigger profits. It's a huge success for the team, and it's great to see that the company is making massive profits as it experiments with its style and spreads itself across vastly different genres.

We don't entirely know what to expect, but with Monster Hunter Wilds tipped to launch at some point next year and Resident Evil 9 rumoured to be in development, it seems these could be the headliners of the next fiscal year for the company. Now, give us that new Resident Evil game, and we'll make it worth your while, Capcom.
