Activision is pulling out the stops in Modern Warfare 2, as they continue to try and evolve their customisation game.

After being lambasted for its approach so far - including pay-to-win DMZ bundles and a questionable Kevin Durant collaboration - the Call of Duty developers are really ramping up the emphasis on cooler skins and blueprints.

Now though, they have dug into their own archives and announced a cheeky little crossover with their other franchise, Crash Bandicoot.

Call of Duty releases a free Crash Bandicoot bundle for MW2 and Warzone 2

Just as Kevin Durant slam dunks his way onto Al Mazrah, and content creation duo Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar show off their Warzone 2 Operators, Crash Bandicoot is now facing deployment.

The developers have released a free Crash Bandicoot bundle for all players (across Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2), which can be redeemed as soon as the Season 3 Relaoaded update completes.

Players can redeem the bundle in the store. It contains six Weapon Charms - depicting the faces of their most iconic characters, such as Crash, Aku Aku, and Doctor Neo Cortex.

The Crash Bandicoot crossover could now open up the doors for Activision to continue embedding their other titles into Call of Duty, akin to what XDefiant has done with the medley of Ubisoft inspirations. The developers host a long list of games which could now see their way over to CoD, including Overwatch.

Maybe the next stop might see Candy Crush get thrown into Warzone, where players can throw sweets at each other and if three of the same colour grenades land on an enemy, they blow up. If not, we'd love a Spyro Operator that can torch enemies with a flamethrower.
