Atlas Superstore POI reignites Warzone with 100-player hot drops

The cornucopia of Warzone was always Atlas Superstore. For most players, the central location of Verdansk was the most fruitful place to land, whether you were a kill demon or a loot fanatic, offering up just rewards if you could escape unscathed.

Superstore is back in Warzone, thanks to an Urzikstan update in MW3 Season 5, and it's safe to say that it's just as popular as it once was. Its return breathes positivity for anyone hoping to have Verdansk back full-time.

Atlas Superstore's hot drops are officially back

As shown by popular content creator Mason "Symfuhny" Lanier, hundreds of players in the same lobby have all been dropping out of the plane to the new POI.

Symfuhny's screen was littered with the red trials of his enemies as what appeared to be the entire player count all swooped down to the once-Verdansk epicentre.

So many players landed there that the server -shockingly- couldn't hack it and began to glitch slightly.

As to the health of the rest of the game, once Superstore has been shopped out and the rest of the map has a mere five squads dotted around for 20 minutes of looting, that's another debate entirely.

Atlas Superstore could be paving the way for a Verdansk regen

According to leaks, Treyarch's next battle royale map is set to be a return to Verdansk, albeit delayed until 2025, as the studio makes a resurgence map to mark its Warzone transition.

Call of Duty has reportedly been monitoring the success of Fortnite's OG map as a catalyst for bringing back Verdansk and will now be closely monitoring the popularity of Superstore. If this snippet of the map is already proving to be a resounding hit, then surely the full map will, too.

Urzikstan's Superstore looks to be quite a hit already, especially with its own Resurgence mode too, proving that the OG landscape was the devs' best work yet. While we might never return to the glory days of Warzone with the original Verdansk, we can hopefully recapture the magic in other ways.
